I recently toured a property in Cary, NC with Christian from this company. While the tour was professional in every way I’m extremely disappointed in the follow up and honestly, the business ethics of this company. After stating we liked the property both my fiancée and I submitted applications which included a $45 fee a piece. While I have no problem paying for the application with the understanding it does take some work to process an application. What I do have a problem with is the fact the company waited 24 hours and took multiple applications after the fact for the same property, surely collecting the same $45 for each applicant. Christian only reached out to us after the fact to inform us he accepted another application. Never responding to subsequent emails asking about other properties or if a refund was possible. I’ve rented properties before in different states from different companies and have never experienced such shady ethics. Most companies take one application at a time to eliminate such dishonesty. I feel like Abodia is just looking to fatten their pockets in any way they can. Let this be a cautionary tale to anyone looking to do business with them as there appears to be other instances of this sort of conduct. Happy hunting fellow renters!

I’ve had a very positive experience with Christian at Abodia. Because I moved from out of state at the beginning of the pandemic, I had to rent my townhouse sight unseen. Christian was helpful throughout that process and has been quick to respond the few times I’ve had issues with the property. Overall Abodia has been a great landlord and property manager.

Myself and my girlfriend modified our work schedules to go on a tour of a property managed by Abodia, i.e. Christian Hansen, in Cary NC. We loved the house and stated multiple times that we were ready to put an application in for the house, with no mention of any other pending applications. Christian told us that he would need us to snail mail the application fee since there was no way to pay online. We did so and waited several days, constantly following up via phone/email. Christian was not very responsive, despite the July 1st move deadline, and had we known there was another competing application we would not have wasted our time touring, applying, and paying the fee. Very shady to not let us know there was another application and would not recommend doing business with them (as others have also mentioned issues with responsiveness and monetary issues).

I received a text from an unknown number out of the blue, stating it was Christian with Abodia saying he would be at the property I was looking at the following day. I set up a time and appointment to tour the property, while doing so my fiance and I expressed great interest and said we would be filling out an application that night. We went home and completed the application, both paying $45 to do so. The following evening, I received an email later at night stating “three more individuals had completed an application and he had chosen someone else to rent the property.” I responded to that email, to never hear anything back. For a property management company to knowingly accept multiple applications, taking $45 from each individual, without providing that information to others applying for the property - is unfair. I wish I had looked at this company’s google reviews prior to visiting the property and I would have found that not only the company, but the same employee has a history of ripping people off. Especially during the current times, dealing with a global pandemic and families being financially strained, this simply isn’t a good look. I certainly wish I could get my $45 application fee refunded because I was deceived.

Christian and Adobia have been nothing but awesome in the time I've been renting their property.
