My wife and I rented a townhouse through Acorn + Oak from 2018-2022. We had a wonderful experience! I would recommend Acorn + Oak, and more specifically working with Brendan, to anybody. From his clear communication to always being quick to get any service requests taken care of, he made our living situation so easy. Brendan always went above and beyond to work with our schedule. He also provided all the necessary information for an easy move out. The move-out inspection was extremely fair and the security deposit was returned without issue.
Thank you Brendan for the wonderful 4 years we had renting through Acorn + Oak!

We've been renting through Acorn + Oak since 2021 and it's been the best experience! From their property listings to the online portal and overall communication, everything is simple and streamlined. Every time someone tells me they're moving to the area, I recommend Acorn + Oak to them. Jeremy in particular has been wonderful to work with!
We've had hardly any issues with the property at all, but I feel confident that if we did, we would be well taken care of. In a fraught renting world, Acorn + Oak makes it easy!

Acorn + Oak Property has been an exceptional management company. Any time I have had an issue, which has been rare, they were super fast and attentive in getting issues solved.
More than all that, I want to shout out my property manager Ty Parker. She has been excellent and advocated for us in renewing our lease, and really going to bat in helping us with out landlord. She was responsive, supportive, and understanding through a stressful process. This is everything a property manager should be and Ty exemplifies all of those qualities.
Thank you Ty!

I am the wife and caregiver of a combat disabled Veteran. We're currently living in the Triangle area to be close to the Durham VA and Duke. Dealing with Acorn & Oak has been worse than dealing with the VA. We had a terrible experience with our last property manager and have had three brokers assigned to our current house in the last four months. We never even heard from the most recent one, despite a phone message and emails asking for support.
At the advice of our neighbors, we reached out to the homeowners to request a new Property Manager who lives nearby and is loved by the area. She said she'd be happy to take us on. There was nothing in the rental or property management agreement stating that this wasn't possible and the new agent agreed to take on our property. Two friends have also said that they were able to fire their Acorn & Oak manager in the past and were quickly assigned new ones.
The Broker in Charge has now stepped in and said that the transfer won't be possible. Again, there's nothing in the policy saying that Managers can't be transferred. Instead of helping our family have a Manager that lives near us and has already shown herself to be attentive and engaged, we'll have to stay with the Manager that lives a hour away and never replied to any of our messages.
I'm so exhausted by this company. They make every situation either as difficult as possible or just ignore tenant's needs completely.
Update- the Broker in Charge called the owners of the home and threatened to drop them as a client if I asked to switch managers. They have two $700,000 houses that they rent with the company. A&O feels this is an appropriate response when a tenant asks for support.

Working with Acorn + Oak was a pretty seamless experience, especially given the pandemic when we were looking for a place. Brendan (our Broker/Property Mgr) was super responsive, even came out late one night to unlock our building when the power went out and we could not get in! Was easy to virtually tour and very communicative. If I had to move into the area again, I would definitely go back to them.
