If could give zero stars to CMR I would. CMR property management company managed my rental property for 3 years and all they did was collect the rent. They told me they would do a yearly inspection and did not do that. Everytime you called no one answered the phones. Is very hard to reach anyone in the office. Both the tenants and I requested for the deck to be repaired several times and they never did it. The manager's voice mail was always full and the only way to communicate with him was by text. When the tenants were moving they told me they reported that the refrigerator was leaking water, but CMR property management company never fixed it. So when the tenants moved I had to replace the entire down stairs flooring, plus floor boards. When the tenants moved I had to spend over $25,000 in repairs. I tried to get the entire security deposit, but they kept a portion of it because they replaced some cheap blinds; even after I told them I was not replacing the blinds. After they agreed to give me the security deposit they never followed through on their word and I had to call them almost daily to actually get some of the security deposit. On the manager's last day I had to meet him just to get portion of the security deposit. The manager told me he was quitting because the owner of the company don't care about his company and don't invest in the staff or the company. If you value your investment don't hire Carolina Metro Realty Property Management/CMR Property Management.
Probably the worst experience I've ever had with a realty company. The staff is non-existent and never returned phone calls. When it was time to move out, we performed a walk through with the landlord who stated the house was in good shape and that there would only be minor charges for "touch up painting". However, CMR managed to come up with $1,200 worth of damages and provided a vague description on the "services" performed. The property manger's phone was always off and he purposely kept his voicemail box full to avoid any communication. After 4 months of constant calls/texts/emails we finally received a percentage of the deposit back. Long story short, their customer service is very unprofessional and embarrassing.
CMR managed a property for me over a period of years. When I decided to list my property for sale, I was able to finally see what a horrible job they did. There was visible water damage that was never brought to my attention, and HVAC filters had not ben changed since the system was installed. On top of that, CMR has stopped responding to any requests regarding the return of the security deposit to me to cover delinquent rent and damages, as well as the minimum portfolio reserve of my money still in their possession. I will now be seeking legal counsel to remedy this issue. Stay away from this business.
I have been a tenant with Carolinas Metro Realty & Property Management for a couple years. Luckily, we have not had many issues that would cause us to need a lot of attention. Recently, we did have a couple issues and Josh and Jessica were a huge help. I greatly appreciate their quick responses and constant communication. When something goes wrong, you want it resolved quickly and I never had to wait more than a few minutes to get a response. I felt they both truly cared about our home and went above and beyond to satisfy our needs.
I've been with Carolinas Metro for around 8 years now. I've always been impressed with their service and attentiveness managing my property. There have been several issues along the way, and the agents helped me navigate these with ease from afar, which is not an easy task. They've always helped me find the best subcontractors at the best prices for any work needed, and have done a great deal to maintain my confidence through every situation we've dealt with.
