If I could give 0 stars, I would! Real Estate Agents/ Brokers stay away! I’ve been waiting now for over a week to receive commission from a closing because they didn’t do their job by checking to see if wire instructions were on file which was confirmed by the owner Ralph McMillan that they had it for 60 days from previous closings. Because of this, they sent a check that got lost in the mail! Their paralegal Alicia didn’t do her due diligence by checking for wire instructions instead stopped answering my calls in regards to the situation! At no point did Ralph or Alicia take accountability for not doing their due diligence to ensure a smooth closing but Ralph was rude on top that when I called them out about sending a check when they clearly had the wire instructions from the very beginning! If you want a smooth closing and be paid out after your hard work. I suggest going elsewhere because they will NOT due their due diligence to make sure everything is done the right way the FIRST time!
The worst experience I ever made, a nightmare!! We were selling our house in the USA and had already relocated to Switzerland. Our agent had made clear 6 weeks prior to closing that we were abroad and that an international transfer of the funds would be required. They definitly didn't prepare for this job and couldn't assist during the procedure. We had to do the work. Till today, I really do not know what I paid them for. This was the answer we received on the day of the closing, while the funds had been transferred to their bank and the title of the house was no longer in our name.... "......I have our trust account manager looking into other options, but I do not think it will be possible for us to originate a foreign wire." By the way, they didn't solve the problem - we had to find a solution!
Never again! I’ve been to several closings elsewhere and have never experienced this level of unprofessionalism. Ralph McMillin is arrogant and doesn’t allow you to express your concerns because, “Who’s the attorney here”… “I have a law degree”… “I’m not going to be disbarred over this little bit of money” He is just downright rude. Thankfully there are other options in Charlotte, why anyone would choose this firm for business is beyond me.
I try to schedule all my closings at McMillan, Psaroudis & Markey. I have been using them since 1992. They are wonderful. Scheduling is a breeze with Cathy Norton. Ellen Rummage is the best paralegal in town. I love both Michelle and Ralph! Everyone is personable and professional. I have also noticed that I don't have problems with issues popping up after the closings when I use them. They do both NC and SC closings which makes it convenient for my clients that are moving between the two states.
I was not satisfied with the quality of service; in fact, they let our home owner\'s insurance lapse during a refinance. The staff was not friendly or helpful. Particularly, when we were made aware of the lapse, we asked them to wire the money to our insurance company, and they refused, stating it was not their policy. Huh? Not your policy...but clearly your MISTAKE. The staff did not adhere to the time schedule. Again, they failed to carefully handle the transition involved in a refinance. Specifically, they forgot to pay our insurance company. Crazy. As for price, they miscalculated closing costs, and we had to pay out-of-pocket on top of the loan, because of their error. Incredulous! With so many mistakes, the attorney should have groveled at our feet and certainly paid the difference of the closing cost error, in the least. Instead, we never even received an apology UNTIL I made it known I, personally, would find the time to review his services. Therefore, I consider this attorney and his staff void of integrity and professionalism at all levels. The whole journey was appalling. Run the other way...
