the decor of Modern nails and the vibe of the salon is absolutely perfect. if you like butterflies, you’ll love it. My tech Sera is the sweetest and always goes above and beyond my expectations. I would recommend to anyone in the area, even if you’re not! it’s worth the drive but with such a convenient south end location odds are it’s not too far from you

I have been coming for years because of the employees here. Today we had the WORST experience ever here because of LAUREN the owner. My mom and I had an appointment. I was scheduled with a specific person and she was too. Because they were behind schedule (totally understandable), I wasn’t able to get who I had an appointment with (I ended up being okay with this) as I understand it’s busy. We both had appointments. My mom asked lauren for clarification on what happened with the appointment and Lauren BLAMED the nail technician for why the appointment was late. As my mom and I left (already outside walking to our car) LAUREN the OWNER runs out after us attacking us telling us not to come back there again. My mom asked if this was a race thing? And lauren on video said yes. My mom is a cosmetologist and extremely professional. Lauren shouldn’t even be able to run a business as she clearly doesn’t know how to. She told us the schedule was tight so basically beat it. We thought she came outside to apologize to us instead attacked us OUTSIDE of the salon. We will NEVER give this place business again and I see why all of my friends stopped coming here such a long time ago. The techs are so sweet but management is HORRID here. It’s embarrassing. Lauren is the most unprofessional person I’ve ever experienced. I travel for work and will warn everyone I know to not go anywhere near this place. Recently seeing the other REAL reviews other people have left and her having 0 empathy to other customers’ issues let’s me know that she’s just an awful human being and this goes above this business alone. The universe will handle her for sure.

This is the nail salon closest to where I live and the one which I will be staying the furthest away from. Not even in a pinch would I go here again! My nails aren't naturally shaped like gumdrops but after 3+ hours with a dismissive nail tech named Marie, my nail beds are ruined and scabbing due to the constant nicking while my nails became unrecognizable from SNS. Unfortunately, this is my second sour experience here so I'm done. Don't expect any hospitality, a water or drink to be offered, to be attended to promptly, or your nails to be done properly.

Just look at comments of the owner going back and forth with customers, instead of making things right Lauren decides to argue with unsatisfied customers. What kind of owner publicly discredits unhappy customers. A “good” owner would try to make customers to keep them coming back, guess she doesn’t need people to keep her lights on

They do good work! It's a small shop so be prepared to get close to your neighbor. Parking was tough but I'm always up for an adventure in Southend! Diverse customer base. Beautiful setting in terms of the surrounding area. Cash only for tips. Some of the girls do cashapp or venmo. I had a great experience and my nails look great! Also I love that they use plastic in the basin when you're getting a pedicure. 😊🤗🙂
