    I'd give negative stars, if I could. I started renting from Rinehart several years ago, before all the negative reviews were posted. They are terrible. Very slow to respond to service requests, but not when it comes to rent! Plumbing backed up 3 times, multiple appliances failed, and were very difficult to get a hold of each time. Move out was a nightmare and ended up in court. Property was returned in better condition than it was received (per the lease terms), but they still tried to weasel out of returning the security deposit. If you do rent from Rinehart, DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!! If it isn't noted on the move-in checklist, you WILL be charged for it, no matter the condition at move-in. You need to nit-pick everything, because they certainly will. During the course of your tenancy, if the smallest thing breaks, file a service request. Doesn't matter if its a crack in the ice tray - FILE A REQUEST. Don't just live with it, because they WILL charge you for it. Inundate them with service requests, because without a paper trail, you WILL pay for it. And when they do you wrong, because they will, know your legal rights. Know the South Carolina Landlord Tenant Law - they have 30 days from the end of tenancy to return the deposit or issue an ITEMIZED list of deductions. Hold them to that, because that's not the way they operate. And filing suit against them in Magistrate court is $80. Remember that, because you will probably need it. Rinehart has the nickname No-Heart for a reason.

    Rinehart property management post properties that already have leases signed but show as available to get people to fill out online application and pay the $45 fee. Then at the close of business the following day they state that the property you applied for "just had a lease signed this morning, but we keep your application for 90 days". They could have easily returned my call at business open instead of processing my application. They refuse to take down pending properties or even have a function to mark them as pending, then when you ask for a refund it takes 20 minutes of we can find another property that fits before they are given permission to initiate a refund. Once they finally send a refund confirmation it is less than the application fee due to a processing fee.... They also have a two pet limit that is nowhere in the application process but add this to the list of issues once you have them on the phone. Final thought, they don't know what to do with military service time. They asked if my DD214 showed housing information... since I had a gap in time showing housing. From my experience today I would never consider a property from Rinehart or allow them to manage existing, incompetent to the core.

    Went to check out a home in Tega Cay to rent. While visiting the home we saw both dead and alive cockroaches in every room. Very disgusting feeling. Furthermore, there was a large rat trap downstairs. If they can’t clean the place properly and make sure there are no rodents and insects when they are trying to impress you, I have serious doubts it is better when you rent from them.

    Rhinehart property is very slow at fixing things been months without power upstairs. The other day our heat went out and it's been in the 30's at night. If it wasn't for our persistent phone calls to them and maintenance who knows when the hell they would fix it. I know next time something else happens I will see them in court

    We, a family of 5 with a dog and a cat, rented a two bedroom apartment from these guys while we were waiting for our house to be done. They were the only ones we could find that had cheap-ish rent, would allow pets and we could do a month to month lease. As soon as we moved in, we noticed s ome safety concerns that we voiced to the office, who then told us that the "Owner wanted us to move out and would refund our deposit", but it was actually the property manager, Theresa that wanted us to move because they didn't want to deal with the repairs. We contacted the owner, who got the repairs almost immediately. They raised our rent halfway through with NO notice. When we moved out, we spent half a day cleaning and patching the holes in the walls from hanging stuff and they STILL charged us $400 for paint and $140 for cleaning. I was told by two different people in that office that we were getting our full deposit back, which didn't happen. These people are liars and con artists! BEWARE!!!
