    Very unprofessional, will over charge you like a snake in the grass. States they will address and work with you if feedback is provided however they are all the same. This is a very poor poor excuse for a closing company. Do no recommend using this company unless you want a stressful closing and want to fork our triple the amount of money then stated on and AGREED on. This has been reported to the attorney board and BBB.

    Total five-star experience! They were our closing attorneys for our first house purchase in June of 2018. We were given accurate and specific information prior to the closing (which seems to be a rarity when buying a house). We had a snafu the day before closing and were surprised at how quickly it was taken care of and we stayed on track for our close date. The actual closing is a dull event, but we found it to be a bit fun because the attorneys present (and our real estate agent and lender, who were also present) were personable and quick-witted. The lead attorney at our closing was very informative and knowledgeable. We felt really confident signing the massive stack of paperwork because each piece was explained to us and every question we had was easily answered. I would use them again for sure. I feel very confident they could handle any issue that arose and make the whole experience feel smooth on our end too.

    We had to use Sterling Law for a real esate closing. I cannot recommend this law firm, especially concerning home closings or legal matters involving real estate. There was such a systemic and consistent level of incompetence and apathetic cruelty from each of the firm's employees we were forced to interact with. During the closing, which was scheduled over 45 days, Sterling lawyers and paralegals waited until the last minute on every item they were tasked with doing. Due to this slovenly method of providing "service," their research into title histories and buyer/seller background was rushed and often incorrect and extremely frustrating for all of the various teams involved. For example, the Sterling lawyer in charge of the closing falsely reported a bankruptcy order preventing the home sale. They did this via email to everyone involved (about 10 persons). They sent the erroneous information two days before the scheduled closing. The Sterling attorney was informed less than thirty minutes after she made this ignorant error. Still, instead of looking into it, instead of immediately correcting, she stood her ground coldly even when presented with a judge's order (public information they could have found) that told them they were wrong. She refused to speak or answer any further questions and it took several attempts to get the lawyer on the phone. Their answering service for four days in a row was disconnecting all transfers to the law firm. It wasn't until two other lawyers (a bankruptcy attorney to educate them on bankruptcy law and the seller's attorney to educate them on real estate law) got involved that they finally relented. But it was too late. The closing was delayed costing the seller money (paying the mortgage for four more days) and forcing the buyer to postpone their scheduled move-in and all of their furniture delivery. Imagine how traumatic this was for a family sitting on a truck and not allowed to move in. I was forced to visit the Sterling office in Raleigh on two occassions. The first time, they did not allow anyone upstairs and insisted we wait in the lobby. We waited 45 minutes - they never came down and we had to reschedule. The next and last time, they insisted we wait in the parking garage - in the dark dirty parking garage to conduct business totalling over 100K. Very unprofessional and if you complain or make suggestions on how they are messing up the closing, they turn indignant and cold. We learned to be quiet, just hoping that they would finally do the job they were paid to do. In my opinion, Sterling is to be avoided. They were incompetent and brazen in their ignorant handling of the law regarding our real estate closing. You would be better off hiring someone off of an online service or doing it yourself. I wouldn't let Sterling mess up a dream home buy or the ability to sell your property.

    Great experience with selling my home. Cheryl was a fantastic communicator and Nathan was patient as I read through all the documents I was signing. I also appreciated the up front pricing. I would certainly recommend and use again Sterling Law.
